Welcome to my journey—a journey of strength, resilience, and empowerment. I’m Aireen Rivera, an educator, writer, and breast cancer survivor. With over 30 years of experience teaching English, journalism, and life skills to students across the globe, I’ve dedicated my life to helping others unlock their potential. But my story is more than just about teaching—it’s about overcoming adversity and sharing that strength with the world.

About Aireen Rivera

Aireen Rivera is a passionate educator, traveler, and cancer survivor whose story of resilience inspires both inside and outside the classroom. She has taught in multiple countries, bringing English learning and cultural exchange to students of all ages.

Journeys in Teaching and Travel

Through the years, Aireen has traveled with students around the world—from classrooms in Asia to summer camps and cultural tours. These experiences shaped not only her teaching philosophy but also her belief in the power of connection and hope.

USA – Access Program, ESL Lead Teacher (2010–2012)
Led the Access Program, providing English language instruction and cultural exchange opportunities to diverse groups of learners.

Shanxi Province, China – Tourism Diplomat Teacher Delegate (2016)
Selected as a teacher delegate for “Captivating the Eyes of a Foreigner”, representing international education and cultural exchange in Shanxi Province.

Beijing Language School – Summer Camp Lead Teacher (2016 & 2017)
Directed English immersion summer camps in Beijing, guiding students through intensive language training combined with cultural experiences.

Liberty Elementary School, North Star Academy – Parent ESL Program
Began teaching English to parents after school, fostering family engagement in education and community learning.

My Schools Newark – Summer Intensive ESL Program (July–August 2025)
Currently leading a specialized summer ESL program, building confidence and fluency in Newark students through immersive language learning.
